Basic Information

• TTL Node (A) is a TTL-bus device. Its factory default ID is 0 and its default baud rate is 1 Mbps. You can change the ID and baud rate using FEETECH’s Debug (FD) software.
• Note: The TTL Node (A) must share the same baud rate as the bus servos to work together.

Use Cases

Direct USB Connection to a Host

• Connection: Plug the TTL Node (A) directly into a host computer (Windows PC, Intel NUC/N100, Raspberry Pi, Jetson, etc.) via a USB cable.
• Control:
  • On Windows, you can run the FD graphical software to adjust parameters.
  • On other systems (Linux, macOS, etc.), use code (C++/Python) to control it. We provide example code, but you need some programming background.
• Powering and Functionality:
  • Without external power: The Node can still tune bus servos’ settings (but USB power alone cannot move the servos). You can also control the Node’s RGB LEDs, and use its servo ports to supply 5V (≤500mA) to an RC receiver. In this mode it can read RC receiver signals from 2.54mm-3P header (S header).
  • With external power: To move servos or use the Node’s power outputs, supply 9–12.6V (3S LiPo range) to the onboard servo connector. Do not reverse the polarity or connect the positive wire to a signal pin. The board has two types of servo-power connectors (HX-5264-3P and PH2.0-3P); either can power the TTL Node (A). Do not use the GH-1.25-3P port for power (it’s for signals only).

Using a TTL Adapter (A)

• Setup: Connect the TTL Node (A) to a TTL Adapter (A) using either the HX-5264-3P or PH2.0-3P connector. The TTL Adapter is then plugged into the PC with USB (providing data and power).
• Usage: The PC-side usage is the same as the “Direct USB Connection” case above. Since the adapter provides power, you can now add other TTL bus devices (servos or nodes) to the same bus and control them all together.

Using the Robot Driver (ESP32S3 Lite) Board

• Setup: Connect the TTL Node (A) to the “Robot Driver with ESP32S3 Lite” board.
• Usage: Write code on the ESP32-S3 to control the TTL Node (A). (Refer to our development tutorials for details.) We will also support JSON-based commands on the ESP32 board so a host PC can send JSON commands to the Node and other devices.

Using FEETECH Debug Software (FD)

1. Connect Device: Use one of the methods above to connect the TTL Node (A).

   Important: Each device on the bus must have a unique ID. All devices ship with ID=0, so if you have multiple devices, change each one’s ID before connecting them together.

2. Download FD: Get the FEETECH Debug software (called FD) from the official source (e.g. the Feetech website or their Gitee repository) and install it.
